The darts - which saw Martin "Wolfie" Adams win a thriller against Phil Nixon - was watched by an average of 3.3 million viewers between 6pm and 8.30pm, compared with a 3.6 million average for the BDO final last year.īBC2's ratings were also ahead of those for the darts world's other big final, the PDC, back on New Year's Day - when an average of 955,000 viewers watched Raymond van Barneveld beat Phil "The Power" Taylor on Sky Sports 1, peaking at 1.25 million over the final hour. Last night its audience was dented by the overrun of the BDO world darts final on BBC2, which peaked at 5 million in the quarter hour from 8pm. Wild at Heart's audience, while impressive, was down on the 10.5 million who tuned in to the show's debut last year. That put it well ahead in the African wildlife stakes, beating off BBC1's documentary on wildebeests, Trek - Spy on the Wildebeest, which had an audience of 3.9 million viewers, a 15% share.
